Clarification

Clarification is the first step in water treatment, removing sediments, organic matter, color, and particles to produce clear water.
This process is used before further purification of drinking water and in treating municipal wastewater and industrial effluent.
Clarification involves three steps: coagulation, flocculation, and sedimentation. These steps reduce suspended solids and turbidity.
